The following information is both accurate and factual:
This account features my wife, Mrs Elizabeth Hogben A.S.B.I., a lady who (before retirement) was a bank manager at a branch of the Surrey Trustee Savings Bank**, a major high street bank in S.W. London in the UK. She was NEVER a professional model, although all of the photographers she posed for were professionals and the pictures they took were used in a professional capacity.
As a highly respected bank executive in the 1970s/80s, her busy working day would involve advising bank clients on their accounts, investments and overdrafts, managing her staff and the day-to-day smooth running of her branch, as well as liaising with Head Office. Away from work, her interests were many, varied and almost entirely compatible with her position in the local community and in society in general.
However, she kept one spare-time activity a secret from her bosses at the bank's Head Office as they would definitely NOT have approved. It wasn't a regular activity and the fees paid were quite insignificant but, over a period of more than two decades, every so often (rarely more than once or twice a year) Elizabeth would receive, and accept, invitations from the editors of a variety of the best known UK men's magazines who wanted her to disrobe for their respective publications. During those two-plus decades she appeared naked in many of the UK's leading men's magazines including, but not exclusively: 'Girl Illustrated'; 'Mayfair'; 'Fiesta'; 'Club International'; 'Rustler'; 'Exposure' and 'Swish' (a publication specialising in spanking and caning).
In January 1971 Elizabeth was progressing well in her banking career which began when she joined the bank in August 1965. She also enjoyed being a young housewife, having married in the summer of 1968, just four weeks after her 19th birthday. That January (1971) she had been working in the bank for five years five months and, at the surprisingly young age of 21, had recently been promoted to the position of chief cashier at the Richmond-upon-Thames branch. It was at that branch, whilst attending to the bank's customers and others who needed the bank's services, that a male customer from another bank came in to cash a cheque. After casually chatting for several minutes, he revealed that he was the editor of 'Girl Illustrated' magazine and was always on the lookout for new young ladies with the right attributes, to appear in his publication which, at that time, had one of the UK's highest circulation figures. He said that, with her long dark hair, pretty face and curvy figure, Elizabeth had the sort of girl-next-door looks that appealed to his readers and he told her he would like to feature her in his magazine. He gave her his business card and asked her to give him a ring that evening.
After a heart-to-heart talk with me (her husband) that evening after work, Elizabeth was eventually persuaded to undertake the shoot. And so it was, that on Sunday 21st February 1971, Elizabeth and I visited the flat of the 'Girl Illustrated' Editor in Waller Road, S.E. London.
That Sunday afternoon, after an hour or so of engaging in small talk, interspersed with self-conscious silences, it was suggested Elizabeth should get undressed and prepare for the shoot. With commendable understanding, Mr Bainbridge (the Editor) then made his excuses and retired to the kitchen to prepare the meal we had been promised, once the shoot was over. With considerable reluctance, much prevarication, and not a little encouragement from me, Elizabeth removed her dress and all her underwear so that, when the Editor returned to the room ten minutes later, she was completely nude. It was the first time she'd ever been naked in front of another man.
In the week after her photos appeared in 'Girl Illustrated', Elizabeth became something of a minor, if unlikely celebrity, when one of the Sunday newspapers carried a report that the young Chief Cashier of a major UK high street bank had 'scandalised' the banking community by shedding her clothes for a 'full frontal' set of photos in one of the UK's foremost men's magazines.
As her husband, I witnessed my wife's foray into the world of nude modelling which came about due to that chance encounter with the editor of 'Girl Illustrated' magazine in early 1971. This, her first professionally shot magazine feature, was some 2½ years after we married. Before that, Elizabeth never had any ambitions to be a model of any description and, even after her first magazine appearance, she didn't seek out modelling work. It never even occurred to her to sign on to the books of any modelling agencies and she certainly never considered herself 'modelling material'.
It always mystified her that, after that first appearance in 'Girl Illustrated', from time to time she would receive invites from the various other magazine editors of the day who, perhaps having seen her previous work, felt their readers might like to see her naked. She didn't consider herself to be particularly attractive and couldn't understand why other people thought she was.
However, Elizabeth's philosophy was that, if people really wanted to look at her without her clothes, provided the editors asked politely and treated her with due respect, then she was prepared to undertake the occasional nude shoot. But she was no exhibitionist and in actual fact she was quite shy. At work, or in her day-to-day life she certainly wouldn't dream of wearing revealing clothes. Modest blouses and knee-length skirts were the norm although, in her late teens she did go along with the mini-skirted fashions of the day.
Therefore, most of those lucky enough to see her au naturel, only ever got to see her in the pages of a glossy 'girlie' magazine. Under no circumstances would she ever agree to allow total strangers or, for that matter, even close friends and associates, to see her scantily clad, let alone naked, in a face-to-face situation. She was so shy that, even at an arranged shoot, she used to blush when the particular photographer she was working with, asked her to start taking off her clothes. And when the photographer told her to take off her knickers and spread her legs, she once told me she was so embarrassed, she couldn't bear to look the photographer in the eye and just wanted the whole thing over and done with.
So one question I am often asked is, if Elizabeth was so shy, so averse to people seeing her naked, why did she pose for all those magazine features?
The answer is that, once the magazines appeared in the newsagent's shops and on the newsstands, she got a terrific adrenaline rush from knowing that tens, perhaps hundreds of thousands of men would be turned on by looking at her and that a considerable number of them would gaze at her pictures while masturbating to a climax. She also appreciated that, not all men who sought out pornography were perverts and that many were merely lonely or shy themselves and were unable to establish relationships with the opposite sex and that therefore, her photos provided them with an outlet for their urges, a safety valve which might prevent them acting out their fantasies on unwilling women.
Another question which arises from time to time is: Wasn't I jealous and, what were my feelings, knowing other men were looking at, and jerking off over my wife, when she was naked, even though only through the medium of glossy magazines? My answer is simple. If anyone was likely to be jealous, it was the other men. After all, she'd chosen to marry me. They only got to see her in magazines, whereas I got to see, touch and fuck her for real.

This beautiful lady sadly passed in December 2023.
**Note: The Surrey TSB later became part of the TSB England & Wales which, in 1995, merged with Lloyds Bank Ltd. to become Lloyds TSB group. This group then de-merged into separate banks in 2013.
If you enjoy my videos and photo albums, I would very much appreciate comments. Without them it's easy to believe I am wasting my time and I know Elizabeth would be highly amused to know that people still enjoyed looking at her. Many thanks. I.
